Castle Mouse Display

I am finally getting rested up from the last two weeks. Here is the display I set up at a mouse (Wee Forest Folk) event last weekend. I got many good comments~most wanted to know how I built the castle (Teehee-it was a display from Yankee Candle Shop). I did add vellum to the windows and tiny lights as well as a wood floor inside. Sorry that I didn't take pictures of the inside with the banquet tables with food (cheese tray; fruit and cheeses; roast pig and wine). Also had a spinning wheel and a suit of armor. I sold Merlin's wagon with candle light inside and took an order from another collector. I did well with the sales of my miniatures and sold enough to pay for all my new mice~if only I didn't go shopping for other things! LOL

So good to be home with no deadlines and lists of things to finish!

Mushroom Home Tour

Today I got a once in a lifetime chance to tour eight of the mushroom homes that Earl Young built in Charlevoix, Michigan. They were wonderful! So glad we went on the tour and ended with the best home. I almost wish my life were different and I had the money to afford one of these beautiful homes, especially one on the water. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside but I have my memories. I did take quite a few outside which I will share. What a day! Now I can aspire to make one in miniature!

Home until tomorrow...

...then driving to Chicago for a mouse event. I find it is hard to keep up this pace~must be my age.
I thought I would post a few pictures from Seattle and the things I saw. I took the picture of Mt. Rainier out on our hotel room balcony! Loved the market downtown Seattle. And my roommates and I dressed up for a tea party for the miniature convention banquet on Saturday night-what fun! I had a mouse in my tea cup~if you enlarge the picture you will see her.
Now on to a Wee Forest Folk event where I will conduct a workshop and sell my miniatures so I can afford to buy the special mice! Always a fun time with mousers!
More next week!

Nearing completion!!!

Wowie zowie...I am close to being done with all my current projects!

I still have to make over 200 bows but it gets easier as I work on them.

I think I can work on those on the flight to Seattle on Monday...we shall see!

I stumbled on a way to display the crowns I embellished...on top of a topiary!

The epoxy clay was not the same as I worked with a few years ago. I still need to 'antique' the stones but feel they turned out OK. I had hoped to make a small cave but need to buy new clay to work on it.

I have to add flowers and bows to ten topiaries...still have a long list of things to do before leaving Monday. Deep breaths....

Oh! I haven't made my roof for the workshop I an taking next week. Wonder if it can wait....working with a mold is something new to me. Looking forward to learning new things at the miniature convention!

Workingworkingworking...

Trying to finish as much as I can before next Monday when I leave for a miniature convention. I had fun decorating the gazebo. The tiny bows on the fairy wands were hard to make-but worth it. I added sparkles to the cauldrons. They are for Merlin's magical potions. Fun but time consuming work. I still wonder how I am going to get 240 tiny bows made in time for my topiary workshop!

Hope everyone is enjoying the long holiday weekend!

Happy Fourth of July!

I did decorate the cottage a bit. I think my large bear needs to come up and stand sentry on the porch.

May all fireworks be outside your home and may all be bright and bring joy. I love the sound of crowds enoying the show.

Time with the Torrey Girls

Just had a wonderful three days with my two sisters and Mom. They came up to the lake and we shopped, ate out, relaxed and had a great time together. We are already looking forward to next time!
