Vintage Treasures
I was feeling a bit down today, after realizing I would miss another big antique sale in Allegan this weekend (we drove up north to the lake house). It turned out that I got a chance to go shopping and I found some treasures which called to me!
The old beakers in the first picture came as a set and are from the old Treasure City Hospital. Was astonished that four still had their stoppers.
I fell in love the heavy milk glass Carnation Malted Milk jar. It is large enough for Bob the cat's dry cat food and has lettering on front and back!
Just this morning, I decided that I should hang my antique straw bowler hat near the coat hooks here at the lake. I found a nice straw hat this morning so the bowler won't be lonely. All these treasures were found at The Red Dresser~my favorite fun store in Traverse City.
Next I visited an antique store just around the corner from The Red Dresser in the Warehouse district. This was a new place for me and I was pleased to see how nice it was.
Then on to Wilson's Antiques on the East Bay. There I found a doll dresser~not very old but in great shape and just what I was hoping to find. Plus the owner was there and took my lower offer.
So I came back with several vintage treasures to lighten my mood and my wallet.
Now I better get to work...Have a HaPpY weekend!

Good for you on finding a few treasures. The Lake house is a wonderful excuse for missing Allegan. I've been jaded after going to estate sales lately. I love spending time with my mom and sister, but the prices of estate sales are so much better. Enjoy the long weekend. Love your doll dresser!
ReplyDeleteGreat finds - especially the Carnation Malted Milk container. It is always nice to find an excuse to vintage shop.
