HaLLoWeeN!

So HaLLoWeeN is this week~and I have not opened one tub of Halloween decorations. Now what does that tell me?! I might have gone overboard with 'stuff'?! Guess I would agree with that, since I have some great things on display. Luckily, I store many of my best things in a spare bedroom closet. And...I bought some terrific new things. So I will share pictures of the new or favorite things I have out. PS It doesn't help that my living room is still full of craft supplies, waiting to be taken back down to my new remodeled art studio (Ha!).

Clowning Around

Who knew that clowning around would be so much fun! Last weekend was the annual 'Folktoberfest', a gathering of Wee Forest Folk collectors from all over the United States in a small rural town in Michigan. This year's theme was 'Wee Ring Circus' with amazing mice made special for this event. We earned raffle tickets for dressing up, entering displays, or other fun things (I joined a group of mouser friends and performed as 'Rock Lobsters' to earn even more tickets). The raffle tickets were entered in drawings for mice (I was lucky and came home with one!). Oh! I decided my circus needed a bearded lady~she is quite ugly but cute at the same time... Here are some pictures~of clowns and lobsters and special mice~Enjoy!

Wee Forest Folk Factory Visit!

High on my bucket list has been visiting the Wee Forest Folk factory in MA....and two weeks ago I made the journey to Boston, where I met up with some 'mouser' friends and drove on from there to Concord. Our visit couldn't have been better~even the heat didn't affect the joy I experienced! Highlights included spending time with the creator of the tiny mice, Annette Petersen (who is 94 years young!)as well as son, Willie, and daughter, Donna. Sharing some of the moments through pictures~

Oddities...

Last week, I visited Massachusetts with friends. We stayed in the quaint town of Concord for a few days and I discovered a shop which made my heart beat a bit faster. It had oddities and fun items and terrific displays, both vintage and new. I decided to share a few pictures~the last two are of items which joined me on my return home. 💕💗💕

Gr8t Week!

Closing in on the end of a great week. Spent time with 'old' friends from college days...who brought hydrangeas from their yard. Loverly! Went to a concert with my husband and was thoroughly surprised at how much I enjoyed it~even though my ears are still numb, four hours later. Brought home vintage treasures~found a hand carved small picture frame from an antique mall and picked up a terrific wooden case from an estate sale as well as some smalls at half price! My collection of wooden spools is growing. i need to remember which Pinterest project I was saving them for. Several estate sales tomorrow~But space is limited at home! Counting my blessings...💕

Highlights

Lately I tend to take the easy path and post pictures on Instagram. One picture at a time~few if any words. I am feeling lazy this summer so it works well with my frame of mind. I thought I would post a few picture highlights of the past month or so. This iPad will only accept five pictures at a time to my blog so I am limited (luckily for you!). I decorated the lake house a bit with some vintage straw hats and salesman samples; spent money on special treasures; created fairy gardens and tiny twig chairs at 'Camp Fife' with old school chums; visited beautiful gardens; watched the eagles soar over the lake; and celebrated our 39th anniversary~a very enjoyable summer. Estate Sale BoNaNza!

So...an old family friend phoned a few days ago and invited my Mom and me to an home where she is holding an estate sale. She found miniatures and thought of us. With her team, she has been working on pricing everything in the house since June and hopes to hold the sale in September, but they are still finding boxes of treasures (& 'stuff'). There are varied collections; antique and vintage, including Lalique, Pendelfin, Goebel, Royal Doulton, Lladro, mercury glass, dozens of Madame Alexander dolls, Steiff, Lentz, Lennox, but best of all (to me) was the Wee Forest Folk! It was so exciting to see all of the treasures but the Wee Forest Folk really took my breath away. Even better, I brought the WFF home with me to price and sell! I now have a job~although any money I make will help me buy one or two of the (hard to find) mice. I look at the pictures I took that day and get so excited about the chance of owning several of the eclectic items. I have decided that I could never work an estate sale. I would drive my husband crazy, bringing home more 'stuff'! I do know that I will be standing in line, hoping to be one of the first to go into this estate sale.
